LPG prices hiked for second consecutive month
Non-subsidised cooking gas LPG rates were increased by Re 1 to Rs 594 per 14.2-kg cylinder in the national capital. Prices were up by Rs 4 in other metros mostly because of different local sales tax or VAT rate.
This is the second consecutive monthly increase, in tune with the rebound in international rates. Last month, the retail selling price of LPG in Delhi was hiked by Rs 11.50.
While the rate has been hiked by Re 1 in Delhi, Mumbai saw a Rs 3.5 hike per cylinder.
Latest rates (Indane - non-subsidised 14.2 kg):
Delhi: Rs 594
Kolkata: Rs 620.50
Mumbai: Rs 594
Chennai: Rs 610.50
The current hikes come after three consecutive rate cuts, which had made cylinders cheaper by Rs 277.
