PETROL DIESEL PRICE TREND  IN INDIA

In India, Diesel and petrol prices are changed daily in line with a rise and fall of global oil prices. Following the daily price revision of auto fuels in India, Diesel oil and petrol prices are unchanged today across India, continuing a 59 day freeze despite the slump in global crude markers since March, 2020. This is the longest streak of price freeze since the OMCs started daily price revision in June, 2017. Retail prices are not getting revised on daily basis due to volatility in global oil prices and are set to restart once the lock down norms are relaxed in the country. In the national capital, petrol is sold at Rs.71.26 a liter and diesel is priced at Rs.69.39 per ltr. In Kolkata, Petrol is offered at Rs.73.3 a liter and diesel is quoted Rs.65.62 per liter. In the financial capital of India, Mumbai, Petrol is available at Rs.76.31 and Diesel sale price is Rs.66.21 a liter. In Chennai petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged at Rs.75.54 and Rs.68.22 per liter respectively. Petrol and diesel  prices in Hyderabad are unchanged at Rs.73.97 and Rs.67.82 a liter today. During the lock down period some of the states in India increased VAT charges on fuel to cater financial needs.
BIODIESEL PRICE TRENDS
Biodiesel prices are benchmarked with diesel prices in Indian retail market. The retail prices of bio diesel remain unchanged today and trended to follow the changes in diesel prices in India. The crude palm oil futures (FCPO) for July delivery was traded down 2 ringgits at 2030 ringgits while FKLI for May delivery were slipped 9 ringgits to 1386.5 ringgits on Bursa Malaysia derivatives.
