EIA STOCK REPORT FOR THE WEEK ENDING 8/12/17 - HIGHLIGHTS
U.S STOCK INVENTORIES
U.S commercial crude oil inventories (excluding those in the strategic petroleum reserve) were drawn heavily by 5.1Mb, more than estimated at 443 Mb with 1.1% change during the week. Stocks in Midwest and Cushing were largely fell down by 3.4Mb and 2.7Mb apiece. Total Motor gasoline stocks were increased by 5.7Mb at 226.5Mb while distillates stocks were down by 1.4Mb at 128.1Mb in line with estimations. Propane/Propylene inventories were up by 0.2 Mb while total petroleum stocks were decreased by 2.6Mb during the last week.
U.S crude oil imports were averaged at 7.363Mbpd, up by 161,000 barrels per day from the previous week. The Motor gasoline imports were reduced by 5K barrels at 483000 barrels where as distillate fuel imports averaged up at 149,000 barrels up per day during the last week.
U.S REFINING ACTIVITIES
The total crude oil put into processing units at U.S refineries (inputs) averaged 16.952 Mbpd during the week which was 243,000 barrels per day less than the previous week's average. A lion share of 9088,000 barrels utilised only in Gulf Coast followed by Midwest, West Coast and East coast. Refineries Operable capacity was not changed at 18.503 Mts. Refineries operated at 93.4% of their operable capacity with 0.4% decrease from the last week. Gulf coast region operated high at 94.9% and West Coast region recorded a high growth of 2.5% in utilisation compared to last week.
U.S crude oil domestic production was increased by 73K barrels per day at 9.78 Mpd. Gasoline production was increased by 421,000 barrels at 10.316M, Jet fuel production was down by 97K, Distillate fuel oil production was also down by 155K.
